It is Sunday, June 16, Day of the Lord. A great day for St. Dominic Priory in Macau: the Solemn Profession of three brothers. The Holh Mass started with the singing of “Here I am, Lord. I come to do your will”. They made the Dominican Profession until death (usque ad mortem). The brothers called by the Lord to be Dominican missionaries: Cesar Lino de Sousa Ximenes, from Timor Leste; Andre Pereira from Timor Leste, and Innocent Han-Zaw-Htun, from Myanmar.
Fr. Javier González, Prior, and in place of the Master of the Order Fr. Gerard Timor, accepted their promise of permanent obedience to the Rule of Saint Augustine and the Constitutions of tte Order of Preachers. The joyful ceremony took place during the Mass, which was well chanted by our simply professed student brothers accompanied by the whole congregation.
The Chapel of the Priory was full to capacity -overflowing: the usual Sunday faithful; the Dominican Missionaries of the Rosary, classmates and friends of Brothers Cesar, Andre and Innocent in the University of Saint Joseph, and others - and our community. The Eucharist closed with the singing of the solemn Salve Regina.
After the Eucharist, all those present were invited to a simple and fraternal lunch.
Cordial congratulations to our three brothers
May our Lady Mary, the Mother of Preachers, and our father St. Dominic bless the brothers solemnly professed. Imple, Pater, quod dixisti …
