Dear Brothers
Happy Day of Our Lady of the Rosary
Since our brothers founded our Province, all our brothers have always placed their lives and ministries in the hands of Our Lady of the Rosary. I believe that we are all witnesses of how thanks to his intercession and protection the brothers were able to carry out great missionary and pastoral work. I remember that once before going to preach in a novena of the Virgin of the Rosary I asked one of our older brothers how it had been possible for him to have done such great things. His answer was clear, thanks to Mary. She was the one who made things possible. I have always carried this testimony deep within myself and have shared it many times as an example to follow. How many brothers always with the Rosay between their fingers, in silence, in solitude? The Rosary with Mary.
Everything was born in our Order with St. Dominic, our brother whom we follow and whom we imitate. His love for Mary. Thanks to her, everything he did was possible. Mary, is the companion on the way, the protector, the advocate, and the patroness.
A few days ago, I received an email from one of our brothers in the province in which he told me that in his community they have decided to pray the four parts of the Rosary in common this October. The constitutions do not invite us to do so much, but it is not bad that we do it since the Rosary unites us more intimately to the mysteries that we meditate on and generates the fruit of communion, the first thing for which the brothers have gathered together.
As Dominicans we are called to promote devotion to the Rosary, something so ours. Let's live it and let's communicate it. This is the best way to celebrate the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary.
Fraternally in Mary.
