Dominican Month for Peace
EXHIBITION: COMPANIONS ON THE JOURNEY.
From the Dominican month for peace 2021 to the people of Venezuela scattered around the world and to all migrants. A program dedicated to the migrants that seeks:
* To recognize the courage and determination of migrants, especially that of the human heart in the search for the well-being and self-improvement of individuals, families and peoples, against all hopelessness and in adverse conditions, with the evidence of uncertainty every morning, but with faith and trust in themselves and in the God of life and hope, who silently invites us to embrace Him, accepting transcendence in Him, from the fraternal love in which we can recognize ourselves as His children.
* To recognize in the Dominican month for peace His company in the commitment of the Order of Preachers to Justice and Peace in each one of its works. We invite you to travel the human path of being companions on the road, from the reality, frozen in time by the camera lens that gives us an image and a story that shows, not human mobility, but the forced migration of the Venezuelan people, who have the strong obligation to survive the evil and the lies that divide and come out of the hearts of some people.
And from the brushstrokes that in watercolors and hope, in an artistic interaction with light, lead us to the shining hope of the human being and to the concrete faith in God the child and the man, from where he reveals himself as the Way, and the Truth and the Life, making himself a servant, calling us friends and being with us every day until the end of the world.
To be Companions on the Journey. May this photographic journey, along with the paintings and the artistic expression in their creation, invite us to recognize ourselves as companions on the road and to live it with the Truth of Saint Dominic of Guzman, who, from the offering of his own life assumed from the compassion which we remember in some gestures, such as when he sold his books to help the starving of his time, or when he volunteered to be sold as a slave to buy the freedom of Christian slaves.
In the voice of the Pope, who guides His Church, let us listen and prepare our hearts to cultivate a friendly, inclusive, protective and supportive attitude towards every person in a situation of migration. It embodies the fragility of people in their personal and collective solitude, when they are forced to leave their familiar, physical, cultural and social environment.
