With sorrow, we announce the death of Fray Antonio Gutiérrez, OP on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. He has not been able to overcome the serious ills that afflicted him. After several days in the hospital, his death has finally occurred.

Antonio Gutiérrez Luís, OP was born in Villanueva de Arriba, Palencia on November 27, 1931. He completed his elementary studies at the Villanueva de Arriba National School in the city of Palencia. Our brother made his novitiate at the Royal Convent of Santo Tomás in the city of Ávila in the period 1953-1954 and made his first religious profession on December 23, 1954.

Br. Antonio fully lived the call to a vocation as a cooperating brother. He was an admirable brother in his daily work and graceful with attitudes and gestures that are worthy to imitate. Among his offices, Fray Antonio was the doorman of the convent and assistant to the sacristy. In addition, he was a collaborator in the Pastoral Ministry of San Pedro Mártir and production of religious music. He was also a carpenter and host of the same convent.

Due to the situation we are facing worldwide, the law prevents participation in funeral acts, so that the brothers must leave everything in the hands of funeral institutions. However, when the situation permits, the community will celebrate a funeral for the eternal rest of their soul.
