As scheduled we have attended the ordination to the priesthood of Bro. Pius Wang and to the Diaconate of Bro Joseph Tran and Jordan Zhang. The ordination was presided by His Eminence Cardinal John Tong Hon.
The Brothers were accompanied by His Eminence Joseph Zen Bishops Emeritus of Hong Kong and all the Dominican Brothers in Hong Kong and Macau who were available as well as the parents and some relatives of Bro. Joseph and Bro. Jordan, however, in the case of Father Pius he was not so lucky and none of his relatives was able to come for the ordination. That may explain how sensitive the moment was for him when we congratulated him and gave him the embrace of peace. After so many years waiting for this wonderful occasion he could hardly contain his emotions and feelings.
The music was well prepared by our student brothers in Macao and Hong Kong, the novices and the postulants. The master of ceremony was the responsibility of the new Master of Novices Bro. Raymond who together with Fr. Salas as Master of Students in Hong Kong, have assumed their office. Likewise, Fr. Javier González has taken over as Master of Students in Macao.
There were present professors at the Holy Spirit Seminary and University of St. Joseph, friends, Sisters, Lay Dominicans, classmates and faithful who come for mass to our chapels.
The vocational story of these three Brothers is in itself a mystery of divine providence and they came to knock at the door of the Province in a very unique and particular way, thus, we thank God for his call and the grace of perseverance as we assured them of our prayers and fraternal welcome. We wish them happiness and joy in the service and ministry of the people of God.
