Why I want to become a dominican
Life testimony of novice Alphonso Bo Bo
I am Alphonso. I live in Myanmar. I have five siblings. I have one older brother and three sisters and a younger brother. When I was in Myanmar, I studied in the Basic Education High School No. 2. I studied English, mathematics, history, geography, economics and about Myanmar.
I like all subjects but in my mind I preferred English and was really only interested in English. I have read many English story books. Sometimes I went to the library with my friends and borrowed English movies. After my high school, I stayed two years in Yangon, the capital of Myanmar. When I was in Yangon I studied English and computer studies in the center of the town. At that time, I decided to join the Dominicans to be a religious in Macau with my friends. Now I am studying philosophy in the Macau Inter-University Institute. I took seven modules in the first semester: Ecclesiastical Latin (1); history of classical philosophy; history of medieval philosophy; philosophical anthropology; psychology of religious; fundamental theology: revelation and tradition; English for theology.
I am a Dominican novice and am eager to go on mission. Studying is a part of my life. Life is full of challenges and yet these are my stepping stones to move forward. My entire life will be both as a student and a teacher because I love studying. Learning is something that we cannot avoid as long as we live. My future depends much on what and how I do at present.
